After weeks of speculation, Nick Walker has officially confirmed that he will compete at the 2025 Tampa Pro, setting up a dramatic return to the stage just eight weeks from now as he looks to secure his qualification for the Mr. Olympia.
The announcement comes as not to much of a surprise to many within the bodybuilding community.
Walker last appeared on stage at the Arnold Classic earlier this year, where he delivered one of the strongest performances of his career but ultimately finished runner-up to Andrew Jacked in a closely contested battle. While many expected Walker to continue competing throughout the season in pursuit of an Olympia qualification, his comments in the months that followed suggested otherwise.
In fact, earlier this week Walker appeared to shut down any talk of another contest appearance altogether. During a recent update, he revealed that he was moving into a lean bulk phase, leading many fans to believe his competitive season was over and that his focus had shifted towards adding size for 2026.
As recently as a few days ago, a return to the stage seemed unlikely.
Now, everything has changed.
Walker has confirmed that he will enter the Tampa Pro, one of the most competitive Olympia qualifying events remaining on the calendar. With only one goal in mind, “The Mutant” is heading back into contest prep in an attempt to punch his ticket to Las Vegas.
The decision instantly changes the landscape of the Tampa Pro.
Walker remains one of the biggest names in the sport and one of the most dangerous competitors in any lineup. Despite placing second at the Arnold, many felt he brought one of the best versions of his physique seen in years. His trademark combination of freakish muscle density, overwhelming size and granite conditioning once again proved why he remains a legitimate threat whenever he steps on stage.
The pressure, however, is very real.
Without an Olympia qualification secured, Walker has no choice but to win a show. The Tampa Pro now becomes one of the most important contests of his professional career. A victory would secure his place at the Olympia and reignite hopes of challenging the very best in the world later this year.
For fans, the announcement delivers exactly what many were hoping for.
Questions surrounding Walker’s plans have dominated discussions ever since the Arnold Classic. Would he sit out the remainder of the season? Would he focus on growth? Would he wait until next year?
Now there is a definitive answer.
Nick Walker is coming to Tampa.
Eight weeks out, one of bodybuilding’s biggest stars has officially entered the race for Olympia qualification. And with a physique capable of beating almost anyone on the planet on the right day, the Tampa Pro just became one of the most anticipated shows of the season.
