Nick Walker and Jo Palacios Set for Tampa Pro Showdown

The Tampa Pro just got even more interesting.

After recently confirming that he will return to competition in an attempt to secure his Olympia qualification, Nick Walker now has another confirmed name waiting for him in Tampa. Jo Palacios has announced that he will also enter the show before continuing his season at the Texas Pro.

On paper, Walker enters as the overwhelming favourite.

“The Mutant” has established himself as one of the biggest names in the Open division over the last several years. Across 11 professional contests, Walker has collected four victories, including three New York Pro titles and one Arnold Classic championship. Most recently, he finished runner-up to Andrew Jacked at the Arnold Classic, reminding fans that he remains a serious threat whenever he steps on stage.

With Olympia qualification still on the line, Walker arrives in Tampa knowing there is little room for error.

Standing across from him will be one of the division’s emerging names.

Palacios may only have three professional contests to his name, but he has already shown enough potential to attract attention throughout the bodybuilding community. His early pro record includes a second-place finish and a third-place finish, and many believe he possesses the structure, size and potential to become a major factor in the Open division over the coming years.

While few would predict an upset in Tampa, the contest represents another valuable opportunity for Palacios to test himself against one of the bodybuilding's elite competitors.

The comparison itself is intriguing.

Walker brings years of experience, proven championship credentials and one of the most muscular physiques in the sport. Palacios, meanwhile, represents the next generation of mass monsters attempting to climb the rankings and establish themselves among the division’s top names.

Regardless of the outcome, many within the industry see 2026 as a potential breakthrough season for Palacios. Another strong performance against a lineup featuring Walker would only strengthen the growing belief that Olympia qualification may not be far away.

For Walker, however, the mission remains simple.

Secure the win, lock in Olympia qualification and move forward towards the biggest show of the year.

For Palacios, Tampa presents another chance to gain experience, build momentum and prove he belongs on stage with some of the best bodybuilders in the world.

One athlete is fighting to return to the Olympia. The other is trying to prove he can eventually get there for the first time.

Their paths now collide in Tampa.
