Can Jordan Hutchinson One Day Be a Top 5 Olympian?
Jordan Hutchinson is now in his fifth year as an IFBB Pro after earning his Pro Card in 2021. So rather than sitting on the fence, here’s my answer…
Yes. I genuinely believe Jordan Hutchinson can become a Top 5 Mr. Olympia competitor.
Not this year. Maybe not even next year. But in three or four years? Absolutely. I’d back that prediction every day of the week.
Why?
The biggest reason is simple: time.
In bodybuilding, age isn’t just a number - it’s often the difference between potential and greatness. The majority of elite bodybuilders don’t reach their peak until their early-to-mid 30s, when years of muscle maturity, density and experience finally come together. Jordan is still building towards that stage. Let’s not forget, Samson Dauda, Hadi Choopan and Andrew Jacked are not getting younger. Even the best in the world will face the hands of time as physique begins to digress and the door of opportunity opens for the young lions to storm through.
But what’s most exciting isn’t just his age, it’s his trajectory.
Last season, Jordan announced himself by winning both the Texas Pro and Tampa Pro, two of the most competitive shows outside of the Olympia. Those victories earned him a return to the biggest stage in bodybuilding, where he finished 12th at the Mr. Olympia, placing ahead of established names like Regan Grimes and Akim Williams.
That wasn’t a fluke. It was another step in a pattern that’s impossible to ignore.
The Progression Speaks for Itself
In 2023, during his rookie season as an IFBB Pro, Jordan finished 5th at the Texas Pro behind Andrew Jacked and Hunter Labrada.
A year later, he returned and finished 2nd… only losing to Andrew Jacked, and we all know what that guy has gone on to achieve.
Fast forward another year, and Jordan didn’t just improve again - he won.
5th. 2nd. 1st.
Three consecutive years. Three major improvements.
The Texas Pro is widely regarded as one of the toughest Olympia qualifiers on the calendar, consistently attracting Olympia-calibre line-ups. To climb from fifth place to champion in three years tells you everything you need to know about Jordan’s development.
Momentum like that isn’t accidental.
It’s earned.
The Next Test
This weekend presents another huge opportunity.
Jordan goes head-to-head with William Bonac - a bodybuilding legend chasing his 15th professional victory.
If Jordan is ready to move into bodybuilding’s elite tier, this is the moment.
Beating Bonac wouldn’t just be another Pro win. It would be a statement.
A victory would silence any debate about whether Jordan belongs in the Top 10 conversation. Instead, the discussion shifts immediately to Top 8.
Is Top 5 still a stretch?
For this year… yes.
But if he beats Bonac and carries that momentum into the Olympia, I may have to rethink what I said earlier.
Perhaps the timeline isn’t three or four years after all.
Perhaps Jordan Hutchinson’s Top 5 breakthrough arrives as early as 2027.
